Venice Orientation Lagoon Tour with Transfer to Airport

Disembark, meet your tour guide and drop off your luggage at their storage facility to start the tour. Venice is composed of more than 100 tiny islets, packed closely together around canals. Venice city is in a lagoon, protected from the sea by a long strip of land called the Lido. You will visit two islands- Murano and Burano. Nearly half of the lagoon's islands are deserted but the main islands of Burano, Murano and Torcello are well worth a visit. In 1291, when furnaces were banned from Venice as a fire precaution, the manufacturers of fine glassware were transferred to Murano. Glassware was one of the few Venetian exports and as such, the secrets of this skillful craft were tightly guarded. Glassmaking was considered a privileged occupation, and glass artisans were allowed to marry into the nobility. Today, the Murano products of blown-glass mirrors, chandeliers, goblets, and intricate works of art are renowned worldwide. There will be time for a visit to one of the many workshops and for shopping. The island of Burano will be next. Brightly painted houses decorate this small and cheerful fishing village. Burano is well known for its lace-making. In the 16th century, the lace industry was at its peak, and Burano was cited throughout Europe for producing the finest lace. You will have the chance to admire these beautiful works that require hours of labor, and maybe even purchase some, if you like. At the end, motor launch will transfer you back to the port where your luggage will be ready to be re-collected, you will then board your private vehicle to the airport. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a sun hat.

Rovinj, Hum; The Smallest Town in the World

Depart the pier for a scenic drive to Roc Village, a cultural monument with well-preserved medieval town walls, a Roman lapidarium, a Venetian bombarda cannon, and a functional watchtower. Historic churches include the 11th-century Romanesque Church of St. Anthony, the small St. Roch Church with 14th-century frescoes, and the St. Bartholomew Parish Church, featuring an 85-foot-high (26-metre-high) steeple from 1676. After a short walking tour, visit a local artist's workshop for a fresco presentation before continuing to Hum. En route, pass Glagolitic Alley, a scenic route lined with monuments honoring the history of the Glagolitic alphabet. Perched on a 1,145-foot-high (349-metre-high) hill, Hum has retained its medieval architecture and is often called the world's smallest town, with just 21 residents recorded in 2011. Explore its historic sites, including a 16th-century bell tower, the Church of St. Jerome with its classical façade from 1802, and the & Glagolitic wall writings' among the oldest Croatian Glagolitic literary artifacts. Visit the Museum of Hum, home to 1,500 artifacts in 11 thematic rooms showcasing daily life and crafts over the past 150 years, including an old pharmacy, school, distillery, tailor shop, and fresco painting workshop. End your tour at the Museum of Hum Aura and Distillery Bar Aura, housed in a medieval dwelling that later became the City Lodge, where local leaders once gathered to make important decisions.

Departing the pier, begin your tour with a fast inflatable boat ride along the Split Riviera towards the Town of Trogir, situated on a small island squeezed in between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. Split, Krka National Park Highlights

Leaving the town of Split, you will take a 75-minute drive by coach to the famous Krka River Waterfalls. Located in lovely Krka National Park, the falls cascade over 17 natural barriers. Krka is one of the seven National Parks in Croatia and was formed to protect the Krka River. The whole area is rich with endemic species - vegetation as well as birds and fish. This tour will take you to the most attractive part of the park - the Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. The highest waterfall is 151 feet high which makes it the highest gypsum barrier in Europe. This trip is a unique combination of asphalt and off road, sea side and mountain scenery and different climates. It starts from Kotor with a scenic mountain drive towards the mountain village of Ivanova Korita. Once arrived at Ivanova Korita, located at the foot of Mount Lovcen National Park, and after a tour introduction and safety briefing you will receive your helmet, board your 2-person ATV and take the asphalt road towards the Ivanov Konak restaurant, from where you will take the Austro - Hungarian off road for 5 miles (8km) across Lovcen Mountain National Park. During this tour you will enjoy the beautiful refreshing shadow of the thick beech forest that embraces the road like a tunnel. A photo stop will be made at the place that provides the most attractive view of the 2 highest peaks on Lovcen followed by the place where King Nikola used to arrive to take a rest and enjoy the stunning view of Budva Riviera, Boka Bay and Tivat. Leaving the off road behind, you will pass one of the oldest katuns in Lovcen, continue along the asphalt road and arrive at Ivanova Korita, where your adventure will conclude. Kotor, Highlights of Montenegro

From the port of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site , a motor coach will take you on a panoramic tour. You will ascend steep slopes up the serpentine road with 25 curves to Lovcen Mountain, through an area of beautiful contrasts. The soaring Montenegrin mountains tower on one side, while opposite them is the sublime beauty of one of the world's most attractive bays. The road will take you to the picturesque village of Njegusi where you will enjoy local snacks that consist of smoked ham, cheese, homemade bread, and wine. Rejoin the coach and proceed to the town of Cetinje, to visit the Museum of King Nikola. Then follow the scenic route through the popular summer resort of the Budva Riviera, as you head back to Kotor. Kotor's Old Quarter was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to the structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. Kotor, Historic Kotor on Foot

Old Kotor was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls extending to the Fort of St. John. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to the mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. You then continue to the 12th century Cathedral of St. Triphon, which features a Romanesque basilica whose nave is separated from the aisles by alternating square pillars and antique columns. Next, you'll visit the Maritime Museum, showcasing the rich maritime heritage of this area. At the conclusion of the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Kotor independently, before returning to the yacht. Please note: This tour on foot includes the use of headsets. Upon arrival at the Moric Family home, which has been in the family for more than 200 years, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome by Ilija Moric, University Professor & President of Montenegro Olive Oil Producers Association. You will get a unique opportunity to discover the secrets behind producing organic olive oil as the Moric family are the only business in the area currently producing organic olive oil. Take a short walk through the olive grove, before visiting their new, modern olive press. Afterwards, when you see the old olive press, you'll understand how the new system has made life a lot easier! At the old mill you'll have the opportunity to sample the olive oil, with Ilija Moric on hand to answer any questions you may have. This is followed by a buffet consisting of a delicious variety of homemade food and drinks such as smoked ham, bacon, sausages, homemade cheese, salad and apple pie. Upon arrival in Kotor you will have the opportunity to explore charming streets and historical monuments of this Mediterranean jewel with your tour guide. Kotor, Highlights of Kotor Bay & Baroque Village of Perast

Your excursion begins with a 30-minute drive to the small Baroque village of Perast for a walking tour in this pedestrian only village. See the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and other monuments including the Parish Church, the 12th century Sveti Djordje Church, and the Sveti Nikola Church, built between the 15th and 17th centuries. In a local restaurant, you'll taste some typical sweets, made from an original recipe used during the Baroque period. You will have some free time before boarding a private motor boat to Gospa od Skrpjela, a Baroque-style church situated on one of two islets in the bay of Kotor, across from Perast. The islet is man made, and its original church was built in 1452. You'll view the stunning present church, Our Lady of the Rocks, built in 1632, and enlarged in 1722. You'll see 68 magnificent paintings by Tripo Kokolja, a famous 17th century Baroque artist from Perast whose most important painting, The Death of the Virgin, is nearly 33 feet long. Rejoin your bus for the return drive back to Kotor for a city walking tour through UNESCO protected Old Kotor. At the end of guided portion, you will have free time for shopping and the opportunity to explore the town of Kotor on your own before returning independently to the ship. The cobblestone streets of Messina, Sicily, are the perfect launching point for an optional visit to nearby Taormina. Stroll along flower-filled streets in search of a delightful lunch or an artist's palette of colorful gelati. The ancient Greek Theater is an ideal place to sit back and admire shimmering waters below and Mount Etna, languidly smoking in the distance.

Messina, In the Steps of the Godfather

Leaving the pier by coach, you will begin with a brief drive through Messina for a 45-minute trip via the freeway and then motor along the coastal road bordered by villas, flowering gardens, and picturesque villages to reach Savoca. Its scenic beauty and historical-artistic heritage makes Savoca, one of the most attractive and unknown places of Taormina. In a private house in the village, "Bar Vitelli," houses a collection of local artisans' tools and photographs taken when Francis Ford Coppola shot scenes of "The Godfather II." After a typical refreshment begin a walking tour along the village's main street past two Churches of the 15th and 16th centuries, (Santa Lucia and San Michele) and to enjoy the view over the valley. Continue to Forza d'Agro, a 20-minute drive towards Taormina, a charming little village overlooking the Arab-Norman castle of Capo Sant'Alessio. In 1990, Al Pacino and Sophia Coppola arrived there to shoot scenes for the film, "The Godfather III." From the main square, a lane leads up to the circular steps, which ascend to the Gothic-Catalan portal in front of the Church of St. Agostino also known as "Triade". Before departing, see the Baroque Chiesa Madre. Please note: Due to the amount of walking this tour is not recommended for people with walking difficulties. A one-hour drive brings you to the outskirts of this picturesque site which was founded in the 3rd century B.C. Although almost completely renovated by the Romans, it now reflects a medieval character that is truly captivating. Sorrento, Herculaneum

The city of Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was founded around the 4th century B.C., copying the geometric regularity of the layout of Naples. Its "decumani" (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the "cardines" (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a "feeling" about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii's buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This means that marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonized woods can still be admired today. You will discover the ancient luxurious properties and villas including the House of the Mosaic, the House of Deer, the Thermae (baths) and the House of Carbonized Furniture. You will meet your guide at the pier and board a shuttle bus for the 15-minute drive to the center of Sorrento. This small town is wonderfully located over steep white cliffs and offers a fantastic view over the Bay of Naples. Sorrento lies on a Tufa terrace and is enclosed by impressive rocks of the limestone mountains. For 2000 years visitors from all over the world have been attracted to Sorrento by breathtaking sunsets and the fragrances of orange and lemon gardens. Enjoy a guided visit of the old town, stroll along the colorful streets and admire the beautiful churches, the most famous the Cathedral, in Romanesque style dedicated to the Saints Giacomo and Filippo and built during the 15th century. Stop in the Main Square, Piazza Tasso, which is the center of the Sorrentine life and enjoy the wonderful panorama on the Gulf of Naples from the Gardens overlooking the port. Your shuttle bus will then take you to the farmhouse where you will experience the work of local modern farmers! Take your time to taste local fresh products such as Caprese salad, eggplants, bruschetta, local wine and limoncello. Return back by shuttle to your ship.
