Livorno, Florence Full Day with Accademia & Santa Croce Church

Journey through the countryside of western Tuscany to Florence. Upon arrival, you'll begin a half-day guided walking tour starting with Michelangelo's David at the Galleria dell'Accademia. This statue is one of the most famous art pieces in Florence, and visitors come from all over the world to see it. Next, continue to Brunelleschi's Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, made of pink, green and white marble. Best known for its unique dome, this cathedral is the symbol of Florence. Next, see the copy of Michelangelo's David in the Piazza della Signoria and visit the Church of Santa Croce. After the guided tour you will enjoy some free time to wander through the cobblestone streets, eat lunch, and visit the local shops before meeting with your group for your drive back to the pier. Please Note: The walking portion of this tour involves approximately two miles of extensive walking on cobblestone streets and periods of standing at the sites. Livorno, Truffle Hunting with Lunch

Depart from Livorno by deluxe air-conditioned coach for a 45-minute scenic drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside, bathed in a soft amber light. The rolling hills are adorned with olive groves, vineyards, and cypress trees, seemingly arranged to delight the human eye. Upon arrival near San Miniato at the renowned Savini truffle factory, guests can enjoy a coffee break, freshen up, and meet their local guide for the truffle hunting experience. The group will then proceed to Villa Sonnino, where they will join the hunters and their trained dogs for a 45-minute truffle hunt, guided by experts. After the hunt, guests return to the Savini factory to savor a delicious truffle-themed lunch. Following lunch, there will be an opportunity to purchase truffle products, olive oil, and other local delicacies before boarding the coach for the return journey to Livorno. From Marco Savini, owner of Savitar, "Our company represents three generations of truffle hunters. It all began with my grandfather, a historic truffle trader from Tuscany. In the early 1980s, my father started transforming fresh truffles into products, leading to the creation of Savitar in 1987. Today, we serve markets worldwide." Livorno, Tuscan Countryside, Montecarloe di Lucca & Il Poggio Farmhous for Lunch

Embark on a scenic journey from Livorno aboard a comfortable air-conditioned deluxe coach, meandering through the picturesque Tuscany countryside for an approximately 45-minute ride. The landscape unfolds with low hills and olive groves, vineyards, and cypresses. Upon reaching Montecarlo in Tuscany, a quaint village nestled amidst historic ramparts, guests will 45 minutes of leisure to explore and enjoy a coffee or snack at the local shops. From here, the journey continues towards Fattoria Il Poggio, traversing the wine road through hills adorned with centuries-old vineyards and charming rural villas from the 16th and 18th centuries. At the farm, steeped in history dating back to 1845, visitors embark on a guided walk through the garden to the vineyards. The Rossi Family has run this farm since 1963 and welcomes guests to taste their renowned wines and extra virgin olive oil, complemented by local appetizers. A delicious Italian farm-style lunch awaits, providing an authentic culinary experience. At the end of the lunch, guests will return to the coach for their scenic drive back to the pier. Depart from the pier and drive to the Tuscan town, Lucca. Lucca was originally colonized by Romans and has retained its layout of a Roman military camp with its two main streets running perpendicular to one another. Coupled with a complicated system of narrow alleys and oddly-shaped squares, this was a difficult town to penetrate. Beginning in the 1550s, Lucca became an important agricultural center and experienced a renewed interest in building and infrastructure due to its population increase. Meet your tour leader at the pier and board a coach for a scenic drive along the Genoa Riviera, heading west via the motorway. Known as the "Pearl of the Tigullio Gulf," Rapallo is a lively seaside resort on the Italian Riviera, nestled around a picturesque bay filled with boats. Renowned for its Ligurian cuisine, Rapallo blends the best of the mountains and sea. Guests will be welcomed at the Musical Kiosk, with warm focaccia and local wine, then accompanied to our Bottega, where 3 or 4 volunteer guests try their hand at the "Pesto Show," using traditional mortars and pestles under the expert guidance of our Chef. The others will observe the experience and be entertained with various tastings of products selected in our Bottega (cured meats, cheeses, pâtés). The pesto is then served to the group on bread crostini for tasting. This is followed by an Olive Oil Tasting; once finished, the group begins the tour through the streets of the historic city center, making various stops to visit typical shops and sample local products such as cheese focaccia, pansoti, savory pies, and fried anchovies, depending on the season.

Nice, Monaco and Monte Carlo *

Board your motor coach for the 45-minute scenic drive to Monaco Rock where elevators and escalators take you up to the Old City. You will be taken on a guided walking tour up the hill and through the narrow streets, past the Oceanographic Museum, the Cathedral containing the tomb of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier and the Prince's Palace followed by some free time to explore further on your own. Next, descend from the rock and take a drive on a small part of the circuit of the Grand Prix on your way to the Casino Square. Your final stop will be Monte Carlo, where you will first walk along the Formula 1 circuit up to the Casino Square to discover the most prominent and famous building on this square - the Grand Casino, which is surrounded by the Hotel de Paris and the Cafe de Paris. Those who wish may step inside the Casino for a glimpse. Leave Nice behind and enjoy your scenic drive towards the enchanting village of Eze , perched on a rock like an eagle's nest. Explore the medieval streets, marvel at all those pretty little houses while discovering the history of the village. You will walk to the garden at the top of the village and enjoy breathtaking seaviews. Take the time for some unforgettable pictures and a stroll through the shops before returning to your coach. Your next destination will be reached descending from the Moyenne Corniche towards the lower corniche and finally along the coastline to Cap Ferrat - one of the most exclusive places on the Cote d'Azur. You'll stop at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild , and walk for about 10 minutes to reach the entrance. Upon arrival, you will explore this wonderful palace whose architecture was inspired by the Italian Renaissance, and completely surrounded by a lovely 14-acre garden. From there, enjoy the gorgeous view over the two bays of Villefranche and Beaulieu-sur-Mer before returning to Nice. Leaving behind the port , you will reach the heart of town. Your coach will take a drive uphill to the residential area of Cimiez and finally return to the centre. Your will leave your coach and start your guided walking tour to discover the historical centre with your guide. This area is clearly marked by a strong Italian influence. Stroll through the narrow streets with tall buildings leaning one against the other – opening on picturesque squares.

Visit the fruit and food market, offering every day besides Mondays a wide range of wonderful flowers, vegetables, fruits, bread, cheeses, olives, spices, Lavender, soaps and much much more. After the walk with your guide you will have some time at leisure to further walk though town, relax in the new garden area of Nice the “coulee verte” or do some shopping. Depart the port of Nice for the 60-minute drive along the Promenade des Anglais of Nice to the highway. The scenery changes drastically from coastal to rural while approaching the hilltop village of St Paul de Vence which was founded in the 9th century. By the 16th century, the beleaguered village was fortified by ramparts, which still stand today. St. Paul De Vence has also retained its medieval charm, one of its primary draws.
