Piran, Slovenian Coast & Farmers Market

This tour is all about traditional ways of life, and giving something back to the community. Not only will you be mixing with the locals but you'll be helping them maintain their way of life. You will board your motor coach for the 15-minute drive to the lovely seafront town of Izola - an old fishing town on the Adriatic Coast. Your guide will take you on a 60-minute tour of the town before continuing on to head inland on a panoramic 30-minute drive to a small Istrian village. Your guide will take you on a walking tour and at the weekly market the farmers will be on hand to show you their traditional recipes and home-made products. At the market, you'll be given a booklet with 5 vouchers and you will have 45 minutes to exchange these vouchers with the vendors to taste their goods. Everything from fruit juice to wine, cakes to cookies are there for you to try. There's even some locally made ceramics, perfect to buy as a souvenir. The vouchers you use in exchange for tastings are like a payment and go towards maintaining the village life. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Wheelchairs can only be accommodated if arrangements are made in advance. There are 20 steps at the Farmer's Market.

Piran, Skocjan Cave - UNESCO

Enjoy your day exploring the UNESCO site of Skocjan Caves , rich in importance for the region and powerful in their beauty. You will take a 45-minute drive to the caves where there will be time to use the restroom before entering the caves. The walk in the caves will take 2 hours, during which you will admire the beautiful Reka River and limestone formations. The Skocjan Caves are a unique natural phenomenon, the creation of the Reka River. The Reka River springs from below the Snežnik plateau and flows some 34 miles on the surface. After reaching the Karst, the limestone surface, the river not only deepens its riverbed through erosion, but also by means of corrosion - it dissolves the limestone. After the visit you will be take a short drive to an organic tourist farm and be treated to traditional homemade local and seasonal produce, dry cuts, organic juice and dessert. You will then have a 45-minute drive back to the pier. Please note: The visit of the cave involves 2 hours of walking over uneven surface, with spots of high altitude. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a jacket due to the temperature in the cave.

Piran, Lake Bled with Island

Lake Bled has attracted numerous visitors for centuries, with its immense natural beauty, hot springs and serene climate. Beautiful hotels, walking paths, tennis and golf courses, a casino, rowing regattas and nearby natural and cultural sites are only a few of the reasons that this has become a popular place for both tourists and locals. You will depart the pier for a scenic 2-hour drive towards Bled, where upon arrival you will board a boat for a cruise of the Lake and a visit to its famous island which is situated in the middle. Landing at the island, one of the sites you will visit is the "Wish Bell," certainly the most significant point of interest for visitors since the Middle Ages. The Bell hangs from the tower on top of the chapel roof. According to popular legend, a young widow who lived at Bled Castle mourned her husband who had been killed by brigands and gathered all her gold and silver and had a bell cast for the chapel on Bled Island. When the bell was being transported to the island, a terrible storm caused the boat to overturn, drowning the sailors and sinking the bell to the bottom of the lake. The young widow, now even more devastated, entered a convent. After her death, the Pope donated another bell for the Bled Church. Your tour will begin on the pier and soon you will find yourself in the heart of this magnificent Old Town. This walking tour includes a visit to the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, the finest example of Romanesque architecture in Zadar and built in 1324. It is dedicated to St. Anastasia, whose stone sarcophagus is in the apse to the left of the high altar. Trogir & Split, UNESCO World Heritage

The Old Town of Split is built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. Your walking tour starts at the Palace where the Cathedral of St. Duje sits in the center of Split. Other sites include the Golden Gate , the Silver Gate , and the Peristyle Square . Depart Split toward "Pantan" Old Mill to enjoy local specialties (snacks of smoked ham, cheese, and olives) while a group of singers entertains you with local Dalmatian songs . A 15-minute drive will take you to Trogir , situated on a small island connected to the mainland by a bridge. You will visit the Cathedral of St. Lawrence . This 13th century building is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The main portal carved by the local artist "Radovan" in the 13th century is world famous. Other fine buildings that will be viewed are the Town Loggia , the Town Hall , and the Cipiko Palace . Please note : This tour involves moderate walking. Krka National Park Highlights

Leaving the town of Trogir, you will take a 75-minute drive by coach to the famous Krka River Waterfalls . Located in lovely Krka National Park , the falls cascade over 17 natural barriers. Krka is one of the seven National Parks in Croatia and was formed to protect the Krka River. The whole area is rich with endemic species - vegetation as well as birds and fish. This tour will take you to the most attractive part of the park - the Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. The highest waterfall is 151 feet high which makes it the highest gypsum barrier in Europe . Above the falls there is a large plateau that offers spectacular views of the area. Your guided visit to the park will include a small ethnological exhibit and the old mill which is still in use.There is a path around the falls and you will have two hours of free time to explore before your 75-minute drive back to Trogir. Please note : The national park terrain is narrow and rough at times and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Flavors & Aromas of Dalmatia

Depart Trogir by motor coach to the Stella Croatica Ethno Village , a family run producer of traditional Dalmatian delicacies. Begin with a walk through the orchard and olive grove along a winding stone path through the middle of a garden and further through Aroma Park, rich with aromatic herbs and spices specific to Dalmatia. You will be served a welcome drink of liquor made from cherries while your hostess explains the elements of the stone village there. You will see the old way of life, unit by unit; fireplace, wine cellar, sleeping room. You will see basic parts of the houses with all the furniture and equipment that was used in them. After free time for exploring, the bread preparing demonstration begins. Then you will learn more about olive oil and its benefits and how to recognize a good olive oil . You will taste two types of oil - extra virgin olive oil and oil obtained by pressing together olive fruit and whole lemons. You will see the practices and traditional ways of preparing Dalmatian desserts. All products are made by hand and according to old recipes with particular attention paid to the quality and nutritional value. You will have the opportunity to taste arancini, limuncini, sugared almonds, prune cake, fig cake, fig and prune jam, and time in the showroom to shop. To work up an appetite take a hike up 1,926-foot-high Mount Hum with its glorious views over Komiza or a boat ride out to the Blue Cave, or wander the streets of this beautiful old stone fishing village.

Komiza, Blue Cave of Biservo Island *

Biševo Island leaves everyone breathless. The combination of natural phenomena, sandy bays and friendly islanders will remain in your memory forever. The Island of Biševo is 5 nautical miles from the town of Komiža and it is best known for its rare natural phenomenon, the Blue Cave . The interior of the cave and the sea inside it are illuminated with an indescribable silver-blue light. The rays of sun passing into the cave through a small crack in its ceiling are reflected in the sea, creating incredible light effects. When you arrive on Biševo at Mezoporat Bay , you will get off the boat and the skipper will take you to a small wooden boat ( owned by a concessionaire), which will take you into the cave. The cave entrance is really small, so at a certain point you will need to crouch in the center of the boat while the skipper manages the boat into the cave. Upon visiting Blue Cave, rejoin your speed boat for the scenic ride back to Komiza. Please note : Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your swimsuit, towel and sunscreen. A life jacket will be provided.

Komiza, Vis Military Tour *

Depart from Komiža on a 20-minute drive to reach Cape Stupišce where a former cannon and rocket base is located. You will pass through the labyrinth of underground tunnels, see the remains of cannons and abandoned warehouses. After a tour of the rocket base Stupišce, you will continue driving to the next military tunnel ARK Vela Glava. Take a tour of the tunnel, then ascend to the highest point of the island of Vis - Hum Peak, 1,926 feet (587 m). You will enjoy the view of the surrounding archipelago and town of Komiža and visit the small church of St. Spirit. Komiza, A Round Tour of the Vis Island by Speed Boat *

You will be provided with a life jacket, board your waiting speed boat and depart from Komiza to Stiniva Bay , the most beautiful bay of Vis island. Stiniva Bay has been protected as a Croatian natural monument since 1967. You will take a tour of the famous Green cave which is located on the open-sea side of Ravnik, known for the visible green beam of light that penetrates through the opening on its ceiling and refracts on the sea surface. You can swim here and discover the shimmering green underwater world. Continue to the town of Vis for a short visit and light lunch of traditional Vis Island delicacies including " viska pogaca - pastry with salted fish and tomatoes," anchovies in lemon sauce, fish pate and home made bread, accompanied by a glass of wine. You will continue to the Submarine tunnel, built in the early 80's and embedded in a massive rock in the bay called Parja. Komiza, Mamma Mia Kayaking *

In the sequel to the famous blockbuster Mamma Mia 2, the island of Vis represents the Greek island of the made-up name Kalokairi, which actually means summer. Most of the scenes of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again were filmed in the sheltered bay of Barjoska, on the west side of Vis. Your kayaking trip will take you there to enjoy untouched nature and explore the filming location. You will paddle from Komiza to Vis Island .
