Bridgetown: Barbados Island Tour with Airport Transfer

Your tour will begin with a leisurely drive along the Gold Coast , home to many wealthy residents, and will take you to the stunning area of Bathsheba . This is where the Atlantic surf pounds the coastline and it is a famous spot for international and local surfing competitions. A walk on the beach is a must. Heading into the hills, you will arrive at St. John's Church . There are stunning views from the churchyard - a perfect photo opportunity. The church contains an interesting sculpture depicting the Madonna and Child with the infant St. John. The graveyard contains the tomb of Ferdinand Paleologus, a descendant of the Byzantine Imperial family. The present building was constructed in 1836, and the pulpit is constructed from six different kinds of wood: ebony, locust, Barbados mahogany, manchineel, oak and pine. Through sleepy country villages and sugar cane fields, you will make your way to Sunbury House dating back to 1650. The house was destroyed by fire in 1995, and was gracefully restored and re-opened in 1996. It possesses one of the country's superior collections of antiques. The cellar houses a unique collection of antique carriages, the largest collection in the Caribbean, as well as many items used in the domestic life of the plantation. It also houses a very old collection of optical machinery and sight testing equipment, some of the first to come to the West Indies including the first lens grinding plant. Enjoy a light deli-style lunch with a complimentary rum or fruit punch. A short drive will take you to the airport where you will be met and assisted with your luggage and airline check-in. Please note : There are about 20 steps to climb at Sunbury House and 10 steps down to the cellar. This tour will end with a drop off at the Grantley Adams International Airport or the Accra Beach Hotel.

Walk through the vibrant local market, explore the Old Town where the first settlement of the city was born. This old part of the city is characterized by its narrow sidewalk streets and façades of old houses and is considered a historical area of great architectural and patrimonial value. You will climb to Monte by cable car. This village located at an elevation of 1,772 feet high was the last residence of Carlos I of Austria, who is buried in the Church of Our Lady of Monte. Finally you will have a 25-minute drive to visit the Old Blandy Wine Lodge in the center of Funchal which acts as an excellent show place for many the finest wines of Madeira. You will taste four 5-years-old wines accompanied by some delicious snacks. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Guests must be legal age to consume alcohol. The market and the Old Blandy Lodge are closed Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays all day. A visit to the church of Monte is not included and is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Cadiz, White Villages & Countryside

You will start with a panoramic drive of the city of Cádiz where the guide will point out the most important monuments and attractions of the city. You will then proceed to the beautiful village of Vejer de la Frontera. Vejer is one of the most picturesque spots in the south of Spain. It was declared Historic and Artistic Collection in 1976. Its walled enclosure features four gates (The arches of La Segur, Sancho IV, La Villa and Puerta Cerrada) and two towers (Mayorazgo and La Corredera or Castrillone). Outside the primitive walled enclosure lies the Plaza de España, built in the 16th century, which initially held the bullfighting events organized by the nobles and knights of Vejer. For religious architecture, have a look at the Church of the Divine Saviour, constructed on the remains of a previous mosque, whose minaret is yet preserved. The styles go from the Mudejar and Gothic of the headboard, to Renaissance and Barroque. Some free time will be given to check the souvenirs shops or sit in any bar or cafe. Boarding the bus again, you will take the scenic "Atlantic Route," with its stunning countryside, passing by the Natural Park La Breña, a protected pine tree forest with cliffs of up to 328 feet (100 meters). From the bus you will see Trafalgar Cape with its lighthouse, that marks the place where the Trafalgar Battle took place in 1805, when the France-Spaniard troops fought against the English. Gibraltar, Exclusive Mayor's Parlour & Hidden Gems of Gibraltar

From the quayside travel north to the border between this small colony and Spain. View this remarkable border and the Spanish mainland beyond. Proceed along the outskirts of town, passing the American War Memorial and The Trafalgar Cemetery to arrive at Europa Point. From this vantage point you can admire views of the coast of North Africa, 12 miles across the famous Straits of Gibraltar. You will appreciate why this territory was and continues to be of such strategic importance to the British Navy. Your tour will then take you on to Haynes Cave Battery, a derelict artillery position set into the western side of the Rock of Gibraltar. Built within a natural cave, the size reflects Gibraltar's extensive miliary past, with a plaque dated 1906 marking its later use during the era of coastal defense fortifications. Move on to the nearby Windsor Suspension Bridge. One of Gibraltar's newest tourist attractions, it is not for the faint hearted. This spectacular feat of engineering is 233 feet (71 meters) in length, across a 164-foot (50-meter)-deep gorge, affording magnificent views across the bay and city of Gibraltar. The Rock's Apes spring to mind at the mention of the Rock of Gibraltar and here is where your next stop will take you. You will take a short walk down to King Charles V Wall, better known as 'Ape's Den' which seems to be a usual habitat of the apes, which are indeed a breed of tailless monkeys (Macaca Sylvanus), that roam free on the rocky slopes. They are endearing creatures with a penchant for handbags to say nothing of cameras and hats. Reboard your bus, which will take you on a short drive to Princess Caroline's Battery, a former artillery battery located at the northern end of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. It was constructed in 1732 and named after the third daughter of King George II. You will be transferred to the City Hall, to visit the Mayor's Parlour and enjoy some cold canapes and beverages. You will then be given some time to roam the building in its entirety including the National Art Gallery. Have your cameras ready as you are allowed to take photos of all the works of art which are on display. Who knows, if you are lucky, you might even run into His Worship the Mayor of Gibraltar and get a chance to have a chat with him and even take a photo with him. You will once again board your motorcoach and be transferred back to the yacht. Please note: The monkeys are animals and are not to be touched however friendly they may seem. Ten centuries ago, Cordoba was one of the greatest cities in the world, with a population approaching one million. The Capital of Muslim Spain and the center of the Caliph's power, Cordoba was Europe's largest city as well as a cultural and intellectual sear. Cordoba's hour of greatest glory was when it became the capital of the Moorish kingdom of 'El-Andalus'. You will visit the Great Mosque, or 'Mezquita', which - after several centuries of additions and enlargements became one of the largest in all of Islam. Take a magical walk through the forest of columns, passing beneath its arches and breathing in the history of Arab Cordoba, so brusquely and surprisingly interrupted by the Christian Cathedral set in the center of its vast interior. Continue to the Jewish Quarter and stroll through the quaint, ancient, winding, cobblestone and flower-filled streets. Just a few yards away from the small square Tiberiades - where the monument to the philosopher Maimonides stands - lies one of three surviving pre-inquisition synagogues in Spain. A Mudejar construction dating from 1315, the interior includes a gallery for women looking on to the sanctuary through small balconies, and plasterwork of Hebrew inscriptions. You will have 90 minutes of free time to take the opportunity to taste the local tapas in one of the bars in the area or sightsee before another scenic ride returning to the yacht. You'll begin your ride (after an introduction to the operation of the Segway) at Plaza de la Marina, in the center of Málaga. Continue to Larios Street, the main shopping avenue of the city, then on to Merced Square, at the end of Calle Alcazabilla, to see the obelisk erected as a tribute to General Torrijos, currently the headquarters of the Picasso Foundation. Next you will ride to the Santiago Church, built on the site of a former mosque and Málaga's oldest church (founded in 1490). You'll also visit the Roman Theatre, discovered in 1951, which was built in the time of Caesar Augustus and used until the 3rd century A.D. After that time, it was used as a quarry by the Moors to restore the Alcazaba, which is the next stop on your tour. Palma de Mallorca, Valldemossa Village & Chopin with Tasting

A short motor coach drive past olive trees and local vegetation brings you to the quaint 14th century village of Valldemossa, located at the foot of the Northern Mountain Range. Its former royal residence, La Cartuja, is the first stop on your tour. The residence became a Carthusian monastery in the Middle Ages and your guide will show you the chapel, a pharmacy, and the monks' library. Valldemossa's shining moment was in 1838, when George Sand and Frederic Chopin came to live at the monastery. Their stay here is well documented and a collection of their furniture remains. George Sand later wrote a book about their time here, entitled "A Winter in Majorca." You will have an opportunity to taste the typical sweets from Valldemosa called Coca de Patata, an individual sweet cake made with potatoes. The drive back to the ship will give you the opportunity to view the impressive cliffs to the north. Please note: Comfortable shoes with rubber soles are recommended. Spanish law requires motor coach passengers to wear their seatbelts in vehicles that are so equipped. Please note: this tour is not available on Sunday.

Palma is the capital of the Balearic Islands and lies on the southeastern coast of Mallorca Island. A wealth of architectural highlights awaits you. Board your coach and travel to your first stop at the circle-shaped 14th century Bellver Castle, one of the world's very few rounded castles and the only one of its type in Europe. Built in military-influenced Gothic style, it lies atop a hill affording expansive panoramic views over the city and surrounding countryside. You will travel on to the handsome 13th century La Seu Cathedral, which presides over the city and is one of Europe's finest examples of pure ecclesiastic Gothic architecture. After exploring the Cathedral's interior you will view the exterior of the adjacent Almudaina Palace. This austere palace was originally an Arab fortress and later the palace of Majorcan kings. Before returning to the yacht you will stop to see the unique style and architectural engineering of the city's famous bullring. Please note: Comfortable shoes with rubber soles are recommended. There are approximately 100 steps from the coach parking area to the La Seu Cathedral. Spanish law requires that motor coach guest's wear their seat belts at all times while in vehicles that are so equipped. On Sundays and holidays the Cathedral is not open to visitors. The history of the Cathedral will be given outside. When visiting the Cathedral, knees and shoulders must be covered. Bellver Castle is closed on Mondays and the visit will be from the outside only with extra time for shopping.

Your tour will depart for the 75-minute drive to the town of Porto Cristo, one of the oldest anchorages of the island. This fishing village is located at the end of a sheltered bay which developed in the Middle Ages to cater for Manacor. On the outskirts of the town is where you will find the famous Caves del Drach are located. The Caves of Drach are the most popular caves with tourists. There are three main caves, Cueva Negra (Black Cave), Cueva Blanca (White Cave) and Cueva Luis Salvator, at the end of which is a place called La Ventana (the window). Through La Ventana there is a huge lake, now known as Lago Martel (Lake Martel), behind which is the latest discovery of the caves, now known as Cueva de los Franceses (Cave of the French). Enjoy a row boat ride across Lake Martel, one of the world's largest underground lakes accompanied by live classical music. The beauty of the caves can be appreciated thanks to its exceptional lighting. You will stop in Porto Cristo, with a short amount of time to browse at the pearl factory. Palma de Mallorca, Soller Train Ride

One of the best ways to experience some of Mallorca's dramatic scenery is this train ride across the island that allows you to see the rugged interior. From the port, a short motor coach ride will take you to the train station. You will board the old fashioned electric train for Soller. Learn all about this old fashioned electric train that has preserved its traditional character for almost 100 years. You will be passing almond and locust-bean trees, groves of olive trees and the lush and pine covered mountains. Arrive in Soller and take a walking tour around this charming village before returning to your yacht. Please note: Train ride will be one way and could be either going to Soller or coming back, depending on train schedules. The other way will be by motor coach.
