Monet's house and gardens at Giverny, on the right bank of the Seine, were a source of pleasure and inspiration to the artist who lived here for 43 years from 1883 to his death in 1926. St Malo: Mont St. Michel

Mont St. Michel is considered one of the great religious sites in all of Europe and is often compared to St. Peter's, Chartres, and Durham. First built following the appearance of Archangel Michael to the Bishop of Avranches, the abbey is constructed at the summit of an immense granite precipice 250 feet above the sea - a monument to the heyday of Norman power and influence in the world. Mont St. Michel makes its strongest impression when seen from a distance, on the approach from a 5-mile long causeway at Pontorson where Mont St. Michel joins the mainland. Once at the abbey, your guided tour on foot will involve numerous stairs and steep paths - yet you are rewarded with magnificent views at every juncture. Board your air-conditioned bus for the 45-minute trip to Valença do Minho, a walled town located on the left bank of the Minho River. Your walking tour will take you past Gothic and Renaissance residences , and offer superb views of the quiet Minho River which you will cross. On the other side of the river stands the Spanish town of Tui with its Cathedral built on top of a small hill. See Valença's fortress , a piece of Gothic and Baroque military architecture. Disembark the ship and depart by air-conditioned coach for a drive to St Andrew's Church. The Lord's Prayer is inscribed in Arabic around the chancel arch, which is built on land given to the government of the Queen of Great Britain - Queen Victoria - by the Sultan Moulay Hassan I in 1883. A century earlier Morocco had been the first country in the world to recognize the independence of the United States of America. Your guide will lead you into one of Tangier's most colorful and bustling areas, the Grand Socco (Souk). It is the center of things and the link between the medina and the new city. From here your guide will lead you to the American Legation Museum, which documents the history of the relationship between the United States and Morocco. Tangier is a fascinating city to visit and contrary to popular belief the movie Casablanca was based on Tangier, not Casablanca. It is an interesting mix of North African, Spanish and French cultures. Your coach will take you on a 30-minute drive to the entrance of the Kasbah of Tangier. Walk inside the Kasbah and then you will head uphill to an area barely changed since Roman times. Back down the hill you will find yourself in one of Tangier's most colorful and bustling areas, the Grand Souk. It is the link between the medina and the new city. You will stop at the Palais Zahia, in the Medina for a refreshment before boarding your coach for the return trip to your waiting ship. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. This tour is not wheelchair accessible nor suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Tangier: Cap Spartel & Asilah Highlights Tour

You will board the motor coach for the 30-minute drive to Cap Spartel, one of the promontories projecting into the waters of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea. It is unique in that it is also covered with rock-roses and cork-oaks. From here, you will drive to the town of Asilah, which is situated approximately 1 hour from Tangier on the northwestern tip of Morocco's Atlantic coast. Throughout history, the small coastal city of Asilah has been coveted by both Portugal and Spain. The city is well known for its enormous cultural and artistic contribution to Morocco's history. Every summer, the International Festival of Asilah attracts thousands of people from all over the world. Upon arrival in the town, we stop at Al Khaima Hotel for refreshments. Then you will take a walk through the old town with its narrow streets to learn about Asilah's fascinating history. Time will then be spent exploring this beautiful seaside resort. After visiting this gorgeous city, you will return back to Tangier.

Tangier, The Best of Chaouen

Tangier is a fascinating Moroccan city to visit. It has many of the things that travelers love - a sense of exotic mystery, interesting history, beautiful vistas, unspoiled beaches, and friendly people. It is an interesting mix of North Africa, Spanish, and French cultures. You will have a 2-hour drive via Cap Malabata and Tetouan toward Chefchaouen for some sightseeing. You will start your tour with the inside visit of the Old Kasbah in the medina. The Kasbah of Chefchaouen was built in the early 18th century by the legendary ruler Moulay Ismail. It is fairly simple without architectural surprises however it is surrounded by gardens on the interior and exterior. Inside the Kasbah, you can visit the ethnographic museum containing antique weapons, musical instruments, and photographs of the old town. You will explore the blue-washed town (old medina) by foot along with your guide who will share stories of Chefchaouen's history. You will have a photo stop to take pictures of a panoramic view of the Hispanic flavored town lined with blue and whitewashed houses, tiny balconies, tiled roofs and patios embellished with citrus trees. Visit the cobbled main square, Plaza Uta el- Hammam where you will have some free time for shopping and where the striking 15th century Grand Mosque sits. The Mosque and its nearby buildings were built by Jewish refugees, who alongside Muslims escaped the Spanish persecution to Chefchaouen. Enjoy Moroccan mint tea at a local venue while your guide shows you this unique city. You will have lunch at an authentic and charming restaurant before returning to Tangier. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. This tour is not wheelchair accessible nor suitable for guests with mobility issues. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and local currency.

Cartagena, Journey to Murcia

You are invited to enjoy a superb sightseeing tour in the charming province of Murcia. Departing from Cartagena by motor coach you will journey for one hour through the foothills of the Sierra de Carrascoy. Your destination is the capital of the province - Murcia. Settled by the Moors in the 9th century and conquered by the Christians in the 13th century, this bustling city offers a wonderful array of architectural delights. Your first stop will be the Monastery of the Virgin of Fuensanta (the Patroness of Murcia). Enjoy a panoramic view of the Murcian orchards, producers of the most fruits and vegetables in all of the Mediterranean. Then travel on for an external visit at the Murcia Cathedral, a medley of Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture. The old building of the Casino of Murcia is your next stop before heading back to your ship. Please note: There are 3 steps to get in the Casino and 3 more in each room inside with tiles on the floor. There is a ramp in the monastery and most of the walking is on flat surfaces. Cartagena on Foot & Tapas Tasting

One of Cartagena's greatest treasures is its tasteful and colorful cuisine. You will enjoy a leisurely walk along the city's seafront with your guide as you head towards the historical Old Town, where you will view some of Cartagena's most famous sights, including the Palace Hall, Maritime Wall and impressive modernist buildings.
