CIVITAVECCHIA, ROME → VENICE

16 Nights on Wind Spirit

This is the Mediterranean that most travelers never find: three ports in Corsica, an overnight in Sardinia’s only Catalan-speaking city, and a sweep of southern Italy. Three ports in Corsica - Bastia’s Genoese citadel, Ajaccio where Napoleon was born, and Bonifacio on its white limestone cliffs, offer a fuller picture of the island than most dedicated Corsica voyages manage. Alghero follows, its Gothic-Catalan cathedral and sea-facing bastions a legacy of 14th-century Aragonese rule best savored over an overnight stay. The route then turns south through the UNESCO Amalfi Coast, Calabria’s undiscovered ports, two nights in ancient Taranto, and Otranto’s 12th-century cathedral floor mosaic before the Adriatic carries the ship north to dock in Venice’s city center, a small ship exclusive.
