Klaipeda: Old Town & Palanga Amber Museum

This tour combines the sites of the Old Town of Klaipeda along with the marvels of the Amber Museum in Palanga. A visit to the Old Town of Klaipeda will begin with a stop in the Theatre Square and its symbol to romantic love- a sculpture of Annchen from Tharau. Take a stroll along the narrow streets of the Old Town where in old times craftsmen: shoemakers, blacksmiths, bakers used to live. Look for a hand-made souvenir and choose a piece of amber at the handicrafts market stalls. Then you will continue towards the resort town Palanga through the central part of Klaipeda. Arrive in Palanga and stroll through the Botanical park, founded by Count Tiskevicius more than a 100 years ago. The 19th century Neo-Renaissance-style mansion now houses the biggest Amber Museum in the Baltics. In the museum find out all about the Baltic gold: its origins, places where amber can be found, unique inclusions containing insects, even lizards and bits of extinct plants, replicas of the stone age and amber treasures. On the way back to the sea you will pass "Birute's Hill" and the Lourdes. It is said that the beautiful priestess Birute was taken in marriage against her will by Grand Duke Kestutis. After her death she was allegedly buried on the hill, where now stands a modest sculpture. Klaipeda: Soviet Nuclear Weapon Site

In one of the most beautiful places in the Plokstine Forest, in Zemaitija National Park , the Soviet Nuclear Weapons' Site is located. It was built under great secrecy in 1960. The site became operational in 1963. There were 4 silos, which housed surface-to-surface missiles. The Nuclear Weapons Site was closed in 1979 but the site was fully restored and now all premises bring back to life the realities of the Cold War period as the site opens its grim corridors and tunnels for guided tours. Board your motor coach from the pier for the 1.5-hour drive to the site. It is possible to climb through the narrow hatch and see one of the silos . The deep mine shaft and underground tunnels are really impressive. There you will also see some of the symbols of the longstanding propaganda between the West and the Soviet Union. On the way back from this apocalyptic site, and as a complete contrast, you will see the most beautiful sites of the national park: crystal - the clear waters of the Plateliai Lake and three spectacular islands. Before heading back to Klaipeda you will have a light lunch of traditional dishes : cold beetroot soup, potato dumplings with meat, hash browns, natural yogurt, tea or coffee or a local beer in a Lithuanian café. Bornholm, Flavors of Bornholm

This tour will allow you to sample some of the flavors of Bornholm - including herring, wine and beer. You will start your tour with a drive through the lush countryside to the Lille Gadegård Vineyard - a very idyllic place close to the town of Åkirkeby. The vineyard, founded in 1995, is the largest in Denmark. It started by producing strawberry wine and first harvested grapes in 2002. You will get a tour of the premises, and finish with a wine tasting. Next stop is the charming village of Svaneke, located on the east coast of Bornholm, where we will stop at Svaneke Brew House, located in an old merchant's house dating back to 1750. Here you will see the beer making process and, naturally, enjoy a taste as well. Then back toward the fishing village of Gudhjem. Literally meaning "Home of God," this quaint village of only 780 permanent residents clings to the side of a rocky bay on the north eastern side of the island. Gudhjem was the first place to start smoking and exporting herrings - a tradition that was to become the "signature delicacy" of the island. Step inside Gudhjem smokehouse and enjoy a traditional smoked herring with bread andbeer. After Your gastronomic experience, return by foot to the tender jetty or stay in town at your leisure. Bornholm, Meet the Nature

You are now ready to start this walk, which is possibly the most beautiful walk along Bornholm's coast. You will start to follow the rocky path north around Salene Bay to "Helligdommsklipperne." Through the millennia, the surf at this location has eroded the rocky coast and created deep gorges into the mountain. Now standing high and proud are the sharp cutting edges, rugged granite columns and steep rock walls with deep corridors and caves - so-called "ovens" that make up Helligdomsklipperne. The path will take you past "Hestestenene," the horse stones, which are three monoliths that act as navigation marks on the edge of a cliff 112 feet above the sea. You will continue through natural fores t with the bay on one side and steep cliffs on the other - ending by the rugged rock formations - Helligdomsklipperne. Here you have a chance to climb down a ladder to get a better overview of the rock formations and to get closer to the water. Then you will continue up to the Art Museum, where a well-deserved refreshment, of your own choice, will be enjoyed. You now have the choice to stay seated and enjoy the view or to have a look around the museum before returning to the pier by bus. Bornholm, Highlights of Bornholm

The pleasant small village of Olden is located at the inner end of the 66-mile long Nordfjord, the sixth longest fjord in Norway.   Long known for tourism and industry, it is now also famous for contemporary design.  With fewer than 500 inhabitants Olden is an ideal destination for people who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, and is the gateway to Jostedal, the largest glacier on the European mainland. Olden, Briksdal Glacier by Troll Cars

The village of Olden is situated at the end of the innermost arm of lovely Nordfjord, which cuts its way inland to the mighty ice fields of the Jostedals Glacier, Europe's largest glacier. Briksdal Glacier, your destination on this tour, is one of its arms. Leaving Olden's center by coach with your guide, you will pass two picturesque churches and the beautiful lakes Floren and Olden. At the end of the valley lies Rustøen, around which numerous waterfalls tumble from the ice field. The road ascends through woodlands to the Briksdalen Inn, where you will leave the coach. The powerful Briksdal Glacier is a part of the Jostedal Glacier National Park. The wild glacier swoops down from a height of 3,927 feet to the lush, narrow Briksdal Valley. When you arrive at Briksdal Fjellstove the "Troll cars" will be waiting to take you safely to where the road ends - at the famous glacier. It's a fantastic trip on a narrow road that crosses the foaming glacier stream twice. You will return to Briksdal Fjellstove which has been the meeting place for hill walkers and mountaineers in Briksdalen for several generations. Here you will be served some coffee/tea and cake before your return by bus to Olden and the ship. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in warm layers. Guests will walk approximately 15 minutes to reach the glacier once they’re out of the Troll Car.

Olden, Loen Skylift & Trek to Skredfjellet

The Loen Skylift is the fastest and easiest way to the best views in Norway. This cable car is one of the steepest cable cars in the world and offers magnificent views over the Olden and Loen Valley. You will see parts of the grand Jostedals Glacier, the largest glacier in continental Europe, maintained by the heavy snowfall in the region. You will also overlook the jade green water of the Loen and Briksdals lakes. Continuing on you will hike on a well maintained path, past the north side of Tungegjølet, a steep narrow gully that ends down at Loen. You will walk close to the steep mountainsides until you reach the peak of Skredfjellet, (1155m) above sea level. The reward that awaits you is well worth the effort - with an impressive view of inner Nordfjord. At the conclusion of your hike, sit back, relax and breathe in the mountain air as you enjoy a light refreshment at the top of Mount Hoven. Please note: Participants must be in good physical condition and should dress in layered clothing, bring rain gear and wear comfortable hiking shoes. The trail covers 3.5 miles (5.4km) round trip and is on dirt and gravel, with gradual but consistent inclines, and steps. This tour is not recommended for anyone who is afraid of heights or experiences vertigo. Comfort stops available at the base and top of the cable car. Your tour will continue over to Kalfaret, the noble residential area of Bergen, and on to the main attraction of the day - Ulriken Mountain. Begin your tour with a walk to the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Bryggen. Here you will wander through the narrow streets between the houses dating back to 18th century. Stop and admire St. Mary's Church dating back to 1170 and one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in Norway.
